I got the idea for asking this question here from Mark Hayward, on his
MyTropicalEscape.com blog.
Mark and Terrie Hayward operate the
Palmetto Guesthouse in Culebra, Puerto Rico.
OK. I admit it. I stole the question. I enjoyed reading what he had to say and some of the other responses to the question on his blog so much that I wanted to ask it here, too, so a different group of people would see it and maybe choose to respond.
Here's Mark's version:
What is one thing you have always wanted to do in your life but have not done yet?
I've been thinking about this question for the last half-hour or so and I honestly have to admit that I've already done most of the things I want to do in my life.
I've also avoided most of the things I don't want to do, such as jumping out of a perfectly good airplane, jumping off a tower or bridge with a huge rubber band attached, going to prison, and so forth.
It's a much harder question to consider what I want to do as compared to what I don't want to do.
I've already said that I want to build Castle Freedom, but that's my huge dream that may or may not be accomplished. I don't think it really qualifies for this type of question.
Right now, the only thing I can really say that I want to do before I die is to visit some of the castles in Europe that have ties to my family history.
So, my answer is going to be to visit Windsor Castle and to spend some time exploring other castles and museums in northern Europe.
What about you?
Act on your dream!
